Claro Argentina Boosts M2M Market with New Connected Devices Platform

Claro Argentina – a subsidiary of America Móvil – the biggest mobile network operator in Argentina, partners with Jasper Wireless to help its operating companies in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay deliver new services through connected enterprise and consumer electronics devices.

Claro Argentina has today announced that it has partnered with Jasper Wireless to bring to market the industry-leading cloud-based platform for the management of machine-to-machine (M2M) connections. The connected devices platform will enable Claro to connect, support and accelerate the market entry of a host of new generation enterprise tools and consumer gadgets, reaching new customers across a range of vertical markets and application areas.

Marcelo Guglielmucci, Marketing Manager for the Enterprise Market said:

“At Claro we see a huge business opportunity in the growing machine-to-machine market, but the path to serve customers’ needs lies in moving up the value chain and making integration part of the end-to-end business model. It is about much more than just providing mobile connectivity.”

“Partnering with Jasper is an important step towards being fully equipped to support the expansive growth across various vertical industries with a more robust service. We’re excited about future opportunities.”

As connected devices become ubiquitous, success depends on being flexible enough to serve different verticals and consumers globally. Deployment visibility, device management and real-time diagnostics are therefore fundamental requirements for a mobile operator looking to maximize the M2M opportunity.

The Jasper Wireless platform for connected devices supports highly flexible business models as well as the automation of operational processes, including custom device provisioning, instant activation, real-time diagnostic tools and detailed billing and usage reports. This means Claro can deliver a superior out-of-the-box experience to the end customer, enabling them to manage their service through an intuitive, simple and secure web page or by means of a fully featured API framework.

“Increasingly advanced M2M applications require service platforms that integrate and provide real-time visibility and control across remote devices, mobile networks and enterprise applications. In vast and growing markets like Latin America this is required on a large scale. Working with Claro has allowed us to expand our offering in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, servicing a wider group of enterprises with an experienced communications provider,” said Cindy Patterson, chief revenue officer at Jasper Wireless.

With several projects already underway, full commercial roll-out of M2M services by Claro is imminent. Combining highly customizable business models with holistic visibility and management of the connected devices network, Claro will enable enterprise customers to reap maximum benefit from its new M2M services offering.
