Silicon Valley companies join forces to offer an end-to-end eSIM enablement platform.
GigSky, Inc., a leading provider of global cellular connectivity solutions for consumers, businesses and manufacturers today announced it has acquired Simless, Inc., a subscription management platform and integrated SIM (iSIM) solution provider founded in 2014 by a team of world-class SIM-technology experts.
With the Simless acquisition, GigSky can now provide tailored solutions for IoT manufacturers building and deploying eSIM-enabled M2M and consumer devices. GigSky, along with its strategic partners, will provide a fully-integrated Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering including eSIM modules and a GSMA-compliant subscription management platform for M2M and consumer devices. GigSky’s PaaS includes coverage in over 200 countries and territories for global, reliable and affordable cellular connectivity. As a full GSMA member, GigSky is bringing to market innovative and cost-effective solutions that are compliant with relevant industry specifications and security requirements.
“We are very excited to join forces with GigSky. Since our initial meeting, it was clear we shared the same vision of bringing innovation and value to our customers,” said Izzo Wane, Co-Founder and CEO of Simless.
Simless has developed the concept of integrating eSIM firmware into a secure area of a system-on-chip (SoC). The concept is protected by various issued and pending patent applications in the US, Europe and other countries, including China. The technology is currently being adopted in the industry as the iSIM form factor. Simless also commercializes an IoT subscription management platform for M2M, consumer devices, and local profile agents to help manufacturers quickly and cost-effectively build and deploy eSIM-enabled connected devices.
“Simless adds tremendous IP and talent to our ongoing and future eSIM initiatives. The combination of both companies will allow us to offer compelling, powerful and easy to implement eSIM solutions for customers and manufacturers,” said Raghu Tarra, Chief Product Officer at GigSky, Inc.
GigSky’s global data connectivity solution is already available on major device manufacturers’ eSIM-enabled products. GigSky also provides mission-critical IoT connectivity solutions for the avionics market. With the emergence of 5G and the projected billions of eSIM-enabled devices over the next five years, GigSky’s new PaaS solution is well-suited to satisfy the increasing demand for global connectivity enablement.
