Neosen Energy and Senet Partner to Expand LoRa Networks for School Campuses, Medical and Business Institutions

Neosen Energy and Senet, Inc. today announced a partnership to accelerate the widespread deployment of campus-based LoRaWAN networks for asset and personnel tracking and safety systems.

Through this partnership, Neosen Energy will deploy campus safety products connected over Senet’s LoRaWAN network, providing the fastest response geo-locating system on the market.

The long range and low power characteristics of LoRaWAN, coupled with its ability to extend indoors and below street level, make it ideal for deploying wireless sensors across an entire campus or large site at a very low cost. To help accelerate deployment of next generation LPWAN IoT technologies for this environment, Senet and Neosen Energy are working closely to target applications that have the potential to create entirely new IoT ecosystems. Neosen Energy brings system design and cloud computing expertise to applications for disposable and rechargeable IoT devices which, in combination with Senet’s Network and unique model for IoT business engagement, provide a platform for expansion.

Initially focused on the school campus ID Card market – estimated to support more than 31 million users at US-based higher learning institutions alone – Neosen Energy has also partnered with SafeKard, a privately held company that uses patented, leading-edge technology that combines SOS location and access control in a personal wearable device. The SafeKard solution is a slim state-of-the-art ID card holder that accepts any ID Badge Access Key Card, and is equipped with a panic button to send an instant SOS with the user’s ID and location. SafeKard is designed for any market that requires ID badges and delivers a superior personal safetysolution by addressing the gap in the marketplace of one second to attack vs. seven seconds to dial 911 with cell phone based solutions.

“Collaborating with SafeKard and Senet introduces Neosen Energy to a fast-growing IoT ecosystem,” said Paul Garrity, Neosen Energy’s CEO. “We are excited to have Senet as our network partner for the next wave of disposable and rechargeable LoRaWAN products. The adoption of these safety devices and solutions is just beginning but we anticipate that it will spread across numerous IoT applications that use ID cards, includingcollege and corporate campuses, hospitals, elderly homes, construction sites, cityscape management associations, asset management and advertising.”

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Neosen and Senet on the development of the latest campus safety devices and systems,” said Norman Harris, spokesperson for SafeKard. “Their expertise in end device architectures and IoT networks provides a solid platform to deploy reliable systems for a broad host of industries,” continued Harris.

Bruce Chatterley, CEO at Senet, said:

“Senet’s Low Power Wide Area Virtual Network (LVN) is ideal for campus environments, providing opportunities for network operators and application providers to deploy large volumes of connected devices at a low cost while leveraging the same network infrastructure for a diverse set IoT applications and use cases.”

“We are excited to be collaborating with Neosen Energy and their partner SafeKard to address campus safety and the creation of a smart campus platform for IoT applications across markets.”

Neosen, SafeKard and Senet are working to deploy the first SafeKard devices on campuses in the first quarter of CY2019.
