New Products Will Focus on Growing M2M Market Opportunities
Franklin Wireless Corp., the market leader in dual-mode WiMAX and CDMA modems for 3G and 4G wireless broadband data communications, today announced the market launch and commercial availability of its new S600 Series of stand-alone modems.
The S600 Series represents an innovative, reliable and cost effective solution that enables OEMs to easily integrate cellular connectivity into their products. The primary market opportunity for the S600 Series is expected to be the rapidly growing machine-to-machine (M2M) space and supports a wide variety of products and applications including digital signage, vending machines, utility meters, surveillance cameras, point-of-sale kiosks and many other products that require wireless remote monitoring. Several potential new customers for the S600 have recently ordered product samples and are currently using them for testing and evaluation purposes.
The S600 Series includes the S600 which is a dual-mode WiMAX/CDMA stand-alone modem, as well as the S600C and S600W which are single-mode versions that operate over CDMA and WiMAX networks respectively. These products are powered by Franklin’s M600 Series of embedded modules that, in addition to M2M devices, are designed to be embedded and integrated into laptops, netbooks and tablet PCs.
“Franklin Wireless is pleased to announce the launch and availability of the new S600 Series of stand-alone modems,” stated OC Kim, president of Franklin Wireless.
“The S600 Series addresses a new and growing market opportunity for our company and is a great example of how we can leverage our existing technologies to develop new products that extend beyond our traditional wireless carrier customers.”
The S600 Series of stand-alone modems supports Windows(R) 7, Windows Vista(R), Windows XP, Linux and Mac OS(R) X. In addition, the modems are housed in heavy duty aluminum cases that are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
