RACO Wireless on Pace for 300 Percent Increase in M2M

John Horn Discusses Breakaway Growth, Team Expansion and Opportunities in 2012

RACO Wireless, a preferred machine-to-machine (M2M) partner for T-Mobile USA, Inc., announced today that the company is on pace to increase its year-over-year growth by 300 percent in 2011. The company attributes much of this growth to the speed and agility with which it helps its partners bring M2M applications to market. In 2011, the company was able to onboard new solution providers in as little as one day, compared to the industry average, which ranges from several weeks to several months.

John Horn, president of RACO Wireless said:

“The phenomenal growth and momentum RACO Wireless has seen this year is a win not only for us, but also for T-Mobile USA. Together, we’re not only delivering outstanding M2M applications and connectivity, we’re underscoring a dominant leadership position in the M2M industry.”

“Enabling M2M on our robust nationwide network continues to be very important to T-Mobile. With new M2M solutions entering the marketplace in as little as one day, RACO Wireless is helping companies and devices connect in unexpected ways. We congratulate RACO Wireless on their tremendous growth,” said Stan Simpliciano, senior director of MVNO/M2M at T-Mobile USA.

Meyersick Joins RACO Wireless

In the last six months, RACO Wireless also added several new members to its team, which now represents more than 200 years of collective M2M industry experience. Most recently, M2M veteran Eddie Meyersick joined the company as its director of global accounts. Meyersick will work with multiple global carriers to increase the already widespread support for the Multi IMSI SIM project, which is designed to simplify global distribution of M2M solutions and allow companies to achieve their desire for one global stock-keeping unit (SKU) at a lower cost.

Looking Ahead to 2012

Research firm Compass Intelligence predicts that the next-generation M2M and connected device market will reach 87 million endpoints by 2015, with a compound annual growth rate of more than 25 percent.

We are currently on the cusp of an era where every device that can benefit from being connected via a cellular connection to the Internet will be connected to the Internet and other devices,” said James Brehm, senior strategist and consultant, Compass Intelligence.

These devices include cars, electrical meters, health and wellness devices, surveillance systems and many other complex systems; and the process isn’t always a simple one. To meet the promise that M2M holds, the industry requires an ecosystem that enables non-traditional companies to look for new business models, simplify and accelerate the onboarding process, hide the complexity from the end user and thus provide a simple and seamless customer experience. M2M enablers like RACO Wireless are doing just that,” he said.

For his part, Horn expects more M2M player consolidation and increasing M2M expansion into very specific market niches, like asset management, in 2012.

Horn said, “Today, we are working with more than 100 companies developing M2M products that have the potential to revolutionize the way entire industries manage their infrastructure. It’s an exciting time to be in M2M.
