Acuo Technologies, now part of Lexmark’s Perceptive Software, was founded in 2000 with the objective of developing the first enterprise-wide collaborative Universal Clinical Platform (UCP) for clinical content management, both DICOM and non-DICOM. With the increasing volume and variety of healthcare data, Acuo’s focus has been to create an enterprise solution for caregivers that provided clinical content at the point of need to drive better patient outcomes – and at the same time create a customer-facing dashboard for IT leaders to manage the health of the solution.
M2Me for Product Innovation: Stryker
Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies and is dedicated to helping healthcare professionals perform their jobs more efficiently while enhancing patient care. The Stryker Connected Care team developed a new application which provides a safe and secure connection from Stryker devices in healthcare facilities to Stryker support teams. The app provides visibility to equipment usage rates, allows for quick and easy forecasting/scheduling of routine maintenance, and provides insights to facilitate better rotation of power tool sets, ultimately enabling improved equipment care.
M2Me for Service Transformation: Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. / Roche
Ventana Medical Systems, Inc., a member of the Roche Group, is a world leader and innovator of tissue-based cancer diagnostic solutions for patients worldwide. The connected product team developed a remote service strategy focused on improved device availability, proactive monitoring, service visit optimization, and predictive failure reporting. The solution, marketed as CareGiver, proactively monitors customers’ devices — and alerts service professionals in the event of potential system failures. New capabilities such as asset configuration reporting, software distribution and integration with other enterprise software will continue to deliver service cost savings and sustain the service levels Ventana’s customers have grown to depend on.

Hologic, Inc. is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostic products, medical imaging systems, and surgical products, with an emphasis on serving the healthcare needs of women. Their connected product initiative was integrated with their SAP system, creating a closed-loop for critical business processes such as warranty compliance, error messages, humidity and temperature controls, and monitoring of factory floors.
