Telenor Connexion selects Asavie Technologies for smart SDN (Software Defined Network) solution to enhance its global M2M offering

Asavie Technologies today announced that Telenor Connexion will use the M2M Connect solution to complement its M2M (machine-to-machine) service offering.

M2M Connect is a smart SDN (Software Defined Network) solution that enables mobile carriers to rapidly roll out new service offerings, reliably and securely. With M2M Connect M2M deployments can be activated in hours even where complex, bi-directional routing or firewalling are demanded.

Telenor Connexion, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telenor Group, connects anything and everything to a wireless network for a more secure, intelligent and efficient world. Telenor Connexion enables market-leading customers like Volvo, Hitachi Construction Machinery and Scania to wirelessly connect products and services, so that they in turn can streamline processes, provide accurate real-time information and enhance their customers’ experience.

The global M2M market is widely predicted to grow to 50 billion SIM cards by 2020. Faced with this demand for connectivity, carriers must provide their customers with rapid access to a range of reliable, cost-effective connectivity solutions. To do so, they will require a connectivity solution that is scalable to expected levels of demand and supports innovation by enabling rapid roll-out of new services in response to emerging customer requirements. Carriers will be required to roll out services in new geographic and vertical markets, across businesses of all sizes, without the lead-times involved in customisation or building dedicated delivery capabilities. Carriers will also want to accelerate time-to-value for new services by quickly monetising new service offerings.

Rickard Widerberg, VP of Product Marketing at Telenor Connexion, said:

“Asavie’s smart M2M Connect solution complements our existing connectivity offering as it provides us with increased flexibility and opportunities for new business models. With it we can accelerate our customer’s time to market and set up a dedicated and secure communication without using traditional VPN.”

“Demand for connected business processes that shorten cycle times, increase quality and reduce costs requires a flexible, scalable and reliable solution that is easy to deploy,” said Ralph Shaw, CEO Asavie Technologies.

“We are delighted that market-leading providers like Telenor Connexion are choosing M2M Connect to enable a new connected world.”

Through our global carrier and M2M ecosystem partners Asavie’s M2M solution is targeted at over 1 billion subscribers in the US, EMEA and Asian markets.

Asavie Technologies is participating in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, from 24 – 27 February on stand 7F70.
