Cumulocity successfully conducted OMA LWM2M (Lightweight M2M) interoperability tests with nine companies

OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) Lightweight M2M (LWM2M) specification is a new open industry standard which specifies a way to remotely manage a wide range of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices and connected appliances in the emerging Internet of Things (IoT).

Cumulocity is taking another leadership position in the IoT market by continuously enhancing its award-winning cloud-based IoT application platform to serve more and more industry verticals. The OMA LWM2M interoperability tests with nine device and gateway vendors showcase Cumulocity’s flexible and open architecture.

The architecture is protocol-, connectivity- and device-agnostic. This ensures future proofness and enables our partners and customers to deploy different protocols, connectivity solutions and devices with the same application and without the need to modify IT Integrations.

Joaquin Prado, Director of Technical Programs at Open Mobile Alliance said:

“We are very please to see OMA LWM2M being implemented by Cumulocity. There is an excellent fit between OMA LWM2M and a cloud based software platform offering. SaaS offerings add instant server side availability to the LWM2M plug and play concept, virtually unlimited scalability and of course affordability with a SaaS typical ‘pay as you grow’ pricing to the LWM2M ecosystem”.
