Truphone Announces Truphone FastSIM™ & IoT/M2M Platform

Truphone launches M2M cloud based management platform to enable its FastSIM for IoT.

Truphone today announces its Truphone FastSIM™ and Internet of Things Connectivity Management Platform.

Truphone’s patented fast-switching SIM allows a phone or machine to rapidly respond in cross-country mobility scenarios or localize quickly when it is switched on in a new country. The Truphone FastSIM operates with a cloud based management service, enabling an “install once, deploy anywhere” approach. No matter the country, the SIM switches its localization characteristics while keeping the same unified set of services managed from a central interface.

The SIM switches extremely fast, allowing it to be deployed in mobile applications such as automotive and wearables which cross country borders. Testing is simplified because the SIM operates identically at the end of the production line to when localized in a country. The SIM senses its location and automatically localizes for that country, with no more complexity than switching time zones.

With the acquisition of CoSwitched in late 2015, Truphone can now monitor and manage its FastSIM in Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) scenarios.

James Tagg, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer stated:
“FastSIM and our network innovations are the result of many years of R&D and interoperability testing with our partners. Today, we are extremely excited to announce our ability to manage SIMs for growing IoT ecosystems. FastSIM leverages all the benefits of Truphone’s global mobile network, while providing a seamless service experience.”

Bruno Duarte, Head of IoT/M2M stated:

“The integrated FastSIM and IoT/M2M Connectivity Management Platform gives Truphone a unique benefit in the machine cellular connectivity and management space. Truphone operator and enterprise partners find in Truphone a reliable and differentiated supplier that fulfills the missing mobility needs of the IoT/M2M industry.”
