IoT Developers to Showcase ThingWorx Expertise Through Certification Program.
PTC today announced PTC University has launched a role-based ThingWorx Certification Program, offering certifications of Internet of Things (IoT) expertise for developers, device engineers, and architects. ThingWorx® platform certified professionals demonstrate their skills in highly sought after IoT competencies in the areas of app development, device integration, and model development.
As the first IoT certifications available globally, PTC University and its technical certifications help build a proven, ThingWorx-ready workforce, readying the next-generation for the opportunities within the IoT. Candidates can establish relevant credibility with employers and customers in the ThingWorx solution marketplace, while companies with certified professionals on staff are expected to benefit from improved strategic thinking and increased productivity.
Stefan Helf, PTC University senior vice president, PTC, said:
“PTC believes companies that create, build, and service smart, connected things are looking for people who have proven expertise using ThingWorx technology.”
“We are excited about the ThingWorx Certification Program because it enables individuals to develop differentiated skills and helps build a well-trained ThingWorx user community.”
PTC University currently offers the ThingWorx Developer Associate Exam, which validates a candidate’s ability to model a ThingWorx application using Thing Templates™ and Things™ modules. Candidates apply core ThingWorx Composer™ functionality to create a user interface, edit entities in the application, and more. This exam is a pre-requisite for all professional level exams. The Device Integration professional exam releases this month, and Application UI Developer and Application Model Developer professional level exams are currently in development.
PTC Certification exams are proctored by Kryterion, a full service provider of customizable assessment and certification products and services, either online or on-site at more than 80 Kryterion Test Centers globally. Candidates can prepare for the exams using the integrated online ThingWorx platform training or by registering for instructor-led classes from PTC University. Upon successful completion of the exam, candidates receive a digital badge, which they can use to promote their expertise within the global ThingWorx peer community. ThingWorx Certification is an individual certification that is valid for two years.
