Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT Makes People, Pet & Property Tracking Easy for Trackerando

Software AG today announced the selection of its Cumulocity IoT by Trakerando, a forward-thinking GPS tracking solution provider, for use in its enhanced tracking services.

Trackerando markets a broad portfolio of GPS tracking solutions for a variety of applications, including fleet management, personal car locating, people tracking, elderly patient monitoring, and pet recovery. To be successful, Trackerando relies on the provision of a high-quality, secure, and robust IoT solution – powered by Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT platform – that tracks vehicles, people and assets.

Bodo Erken, Trackerando, chief executive officer, said:

“It took us only six weeks from start to finish to build a fully customized IoT solution using Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT. This enables us to connect, monitor and track vehicles, people and assets in real-time and gain significant insights into the location of thousands of devices with diverse uses.”

“Ultimately, Trackerando enables its customers to recover misplaced cars, monitor their children’s location, find lost pets and, on the industrial side, optimize fleet management routes and improve resource allocation.”

Trakerando’s IoT solution provides its customers with the ability to quickly set-up simple-to-use app with real-time monitoring and tracking functionality. Devices are auto-registered on the Cumulocity IoT platform and fully integrated within Trackerando’s online registration and payment systems.

Once registered, Trackerando customers – such as hospitals and elderly homes — can use a set of smart rules to enable geo-fencing alerts, proximity-based rules and multi-modal alarms. The Trackerando tracking solution comprises other features including seamless integration into payments systems for simple ordering and accounting. Trackerando has also built – and Cumulocity IoT seamlessly supports – iOS and Android smart phones to offer a full mobile experience for their customers.

One increasingly important area is the growing need for in-home monitoring of elderly people, noted Bodo Erken.
“With the placement of sensors around a home and the use of a wearable device, the wellness and safety of elderly people living independently can be remotely monitored through their movement, location, interactions and vital signs. Abnormal situations can trigger alarms for caregivers or family members. Equally, an elderly person can raise an alarm themselves by pushing a button on their device to call for immediate help.”

Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT, which operates across cloud, on premises and edge, and provides enterprises with total freedom and choice in designing, building, deploying and evolving their IoT distributed deployments.

Bernd Gross, senior vice president, IoT and Cloud, Software AG noted:
“Trackerando’s focus on their customers’ requirements ensures that they stay ahead in the competitive tracking market. Founding their IoT solution on Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT ensures that Trackerando can maintain their focus whilst simultaneously taking advantage of the continuous evolution of the leading carrier-grade IoT platform.”

Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT includes a range of pre-packaged solutions such as Condition Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance and Track & Trace, as well as quick and easy device and sensor management, thus bringing the worlds of IT and operational technology (OT) together.

Bernd Gross continued: “Extending these IoT capabilities, Cumulocity customers can take full advantage of Software AG’s Digital Business Platform for industry-leading integration, business process management, advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities.”

Cumulocity IoT is unique in that it provides an IoT-as-a-Service solution that includes enhanced high availability and multi-cluster deployment options. Additionally, Cumulocity IoT incorporates several carrier-grade features, including code-free integration of devices supporting Low Power WAN (LPWAN) technologies used for long-term low bandwidth remote monitoring, Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), Lightweight M2M (LWM2M), and Long Range (LoRa).
