GCT® Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, today announced that GCT’s LTE IoT chip GDM7243i has been certified by Verizon and accepted into their portfolio of approved Cat-M1 chips.
This approval allows for shorter certification and design time, enabling easier, faster and cheaper integration into IoT devices on Verizon’s LTE Cat-M1 network.
GCT’s GDM7243i is a fully integrated multimode and feature-rich Cat-M1 baseband + RF chip that supports Verizon’s Cat-M1 network. This multi-band solution also supports an additional 15 other LTE bands, thus allowing for a maximum range of commercial device market deployment possibilities.
“We are pleased to be working closely with Verizon to achieve this significant milestone that will accelerate integration of our IoT chip into IoT devices for the Verizon network,” says Alex Sum, vice president of sales and marketing at GCT Semiconductor, Inc.
“GCT continues to focus on customer demand for IoT value added features and has integrated many features into GDM7243i such as GPS engine, Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2, CAN interface and VoLTE.”
GCT currently offers a GDM7243i Development Kit with tools to fast track the Verizon LTE Cat-M1 modem integration. GCT is working with several leading module vendors worldwide that quote and supply GDM7243i-based modules for commercial deployments.
