- Telit’s all-new xE310 as well as market leading xE910 and xL865 modules to use Qualcomm® 9205 LTE modems for ultra-compact, affordable and power-efficient LTE-M and NB-IoT solutions
- New 3GPP Release 14 compliant modules are the latest in a Telit’s long tradition of being early adopter of the latest solutions from Qualcomm Technologies
Telit today announced that it will be among the world’s first providers of IoT modules based on the just announced Qualcomm 9205 LTE modem.
The highly compact chipset will enable Telit to meet booming demand for ultra-small modules for applications such as wearable medical devices, fitness trackers and industrial sensors as well as deliver 3GPP Release 14 functionality for the first time in its portfolio.
The first Telit products based on the Qualcomm 9205 LTE modem include the new xE310 family of LTE-M and NB-IoT modules. With one of the smallest form factors available in the market, the new form factor family includes support for 2G fallback and GNSS location technology.
Telit’s new xE310 form factor is based on a single LGA pad layout supporting multiple module dimensions from ultra-miniature single mode NB-IoT variants for global applications, to larger versions supporting multi-mode multi technology packaging. The ultra-compact version is ideal for the nearly 900 million NB-IoT and LTE-M devices that ABI estimates will ship in 2023.
Telit will also apply the Qualcomm 9205 LTE modem in new members of the ME910x1 and xL865 module families, addressing IoT applications with Release 14 and other exacting technical and cost requirements. The new xE310, xE910 and xL865 products are ideal for future-proofing existing IoT applications on the road to 5G.
“Our 4G LTE technologies are designed to fuel innovation in the Internet of Things, making it possible to connect billions of new devices using cellular networks,” said Vieri Vanghi, vice president, product management, Qualcomm Europe, Inc. “Our collaboration with Telit is important to make our LTE IoT solutions available to end-customers, and to bring the benefits of our innovations to consumers across the globe.”
“The new compact form factor premiering the Qualcomm 9205 LTE modem is the latest example of how Telit leads the way with IoT module solutions based on Qualcomm Technologies’ innovations,” said Manish Watwani, Telit executive vice president of global product management.
“Our new xE310, xE910 and xL865 modules will meet skyrocketing demand for ultra-compact, affordable and power-efficient solutions that leverage fast-growing LTE-M and NB-IoT mobile networks.”
