Tiny, powerful CDMA and GSM modules based on Qualcomm’s “Internet of Everything” technology.
Intrinsyc Software International, Inc., a leading solutions provider to the global mobile and embedded wireless device community, today announced a distribution agreement with AnyDATA Corporation, a leader in the quality design and manufacture of high-performance wireless devices for network operators and OEMs worldwide. Intrinsyc will distribute and support AnyDATA’s industry leading M2M modules based on Qualcomm’s Internet of Everything Module (IEM) technology.
The DTW series of low cost embedded CDMA and GSM/HSPA modules serve as the communications platform for a wide array of connected devices, including digital photo frames, mobile healthcare devices, smart grid and meter readers, automotive telematics, and other vertical applications. The tiny broadband modules measure only 21mm x 22mm x 4.5mm, and weighs only 4 grams.
All modules in the AnyDATA DTW series include GPS for real-time tracking and accelerometer for motion sensing applications. The DTW series of miniature embedded modules will utilize the same 90-pin connector and USB 2.0 interface. This enables device companies to utilize different versions of the modules to cost effectively operate on various cellular networks. The AnyDATA DTW-200 module operates on CDMA 1X networks while the AnyDATA DTW-500 utilizes 3G EVDO Rev A technology. Both wireless modules support the RUIM interface and operate on CDMA 800 and 1900 MHz frequencies. The embedded modules feature A-GPS location that enables indoor tracking of the device without seeing the GPS satellites.
The AnyDATA DTW-400 module operates on UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks, while the DTW-600 version operates on quad band GSM networks as well as tri-band UMTS networks that support high speed HSPA technology.
With the addition of production M2M modules from AnyDATA, Intrinsyc can now supply OEMs with a full range of products and services for the M2M market; development kits, training, HW design, application development, integration, support, and modules.
“We are pleased to become a channel partner for AnyDATA which allows us to provide turn-key solutions to our M2M customers,” said Tracy Rees, Intrinsyc’s Chief Executive Officer. “We believe their small form factor modules will be a catalyst for a wide variety of new connected consumer devices that will provide better healthcare, personal security, and anywhere Internet connectivity.”
“AnyDATA chose Intrinsyc because of their reputation for outstanding customer service, complementary solutions, and our shared passion for enabling a smarter wireless world,” said John Scott, President and General Manager – Americas. “We believe this channel partnership with Intrinsyc will help AnyDATA reach and support a broader set of customers and accelerate the success of our innovative DTW Series product line.”
OEMs interested in utilizing the DTW series of modules can begin their engagement at Intrinsyc with the iQ Wireless Development Kit, a low cost, high performance development platform for creating real-time, location aware solutions. The kit is very flexible in its design and enables accelerated hardware and software development, evaluation, and testing of the AnyDATA modules providing a seamless transfer of a customer’s application and hardware design into manufacture.
