Deutsche Telekom offers M2M solutions worldwide

Deutsche Telekom launches marketplace for M2M solutions

Deutsche Telekom AG presented its M2M partner portal at an international meeting with 150 solution partners in Rotterdam today.

Under the Partners tab at www.telekom.com/m2m, Deutsche Telekom offers existing partners, regardless of their company size and country of origin, an opportunity to present their M2M applications to providers of hardware, software and service, systems-integration and end-to-end solutions worldwide and to market these applications globally. And that’s not all: The portal also allows potential new partners from the M2M environment and customers to obtain information about existing products, find the right partner companies and develop new ideas themselves.

This portal, created by Deutsche Telekom, also contains localportals and is the first transnational platform of its kind so far for developing and promoting solution business in the booming M2M market.

Our partner platform follows the creation of the international M2M Competence Center and the international M2M Service Alliance as another milestone in the implementation of our strategy for the growth market of machine-to-machine communication,” said Rainer Deutschmann, Senior Vice President of Core Business Products at Deutsche Telekom.

“We are creating an M2M marketplace between our constantly expanding global partner network and our customers, who can find solutions for their specific usage scenarios here.”

The Deutsche Telekom M2M portal launches with solutions from 40 partners and 16 countries (Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Poland, Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Israel, the U.S., Canada, Belarus, China, India, Taiwan). They show a wide range of solutions from the nine areas of application of the Telekom M2M Competence Center, namely energy, vehicle telematics, healthcare, retail & commerce, industrial automation, public sector, security, transport and logistics, and consumer electronics. A solution finder allows users to search for partner solutions by country or area of application, as well as by using keywords. In cooperation with partners, the Competence Center has already provided M2M developer kits for users, for example with Intel, Telit, Criterion and Sierra Wireless. Deutsche Telekom established the M2M Competence Center in February 2010 in order to offer applications of this technology to customers worldwide.
