Jasper launches Alliance Manager for global IoT services

Alliance agnostic software module accelerates mobile operator alliance building to deliver single cloud-based s
olution for multi-national enterprises.

Jasper Wireless, the leading connected devices platform powering the mobile Internet of Things, today announced Jasper Alliance Manager, a new IoT and M2M software module that enables mobile operators to form alliances with any other operator of their choice to win and service multi-national enterprises. Integrated into the cloud-based Jasper Platform, Jasper Alliance Manager enables participants to administer their alliances to the terms agreed by all parties – both operators and enterprises – removing the complexity of delivering globally connected M2M services.

Widely recognized as the first choice for connected device manufacturers with over 2500 enterprises on the Jasper Platform across 15 mobile operator groups globally, Jasper is bringing this expertise to help solve the problem of multi-nationals that need a single global service, without the hassle of managing the complexity of multiple parties, platforms and service models. Mobile operators are addressing this customer need by forming alliances with each other to deliver a single solution to the enterprises. Jasper Alliance Manager supports all alliance types, including resale, co-sell and revenue-sharing, enabling global IoT services to be set-up in a matter of a few days.

Jasper Alliance Manager enables any operator to form alliances with any other operator, regardless of affiliation with Jasper. This alliance-agnostic approach ensures that operators have complete freedom and flexibility to meet specific customer requirements through bespoke partnerships with other mobile operators, wherever they are in the world and whatever market they are targeting.

Sam Lucero, Senior Principal Analyst at IHS, said:

“Global deployability is becoming increasingly important to product OEMs and corporate adopters in the M2M market and traditional roaming solutions will not provide the scale or price points to meet the coming demand for global connectivity.”

“Consequently, IHS believes that operator alliances will continue to grow in importance, and solutions that facilitate such alliances in an open, agnostic manner – as with the Jasper Alliance Manager – will be welcomed by operators seeking to serve a global M2M market with alliance partners.”

The Jasper Alliance Manager software module covers every facet of an operator’s M2M alliance – the terms, the rules, the billing models – all while providing enterprises a single cloud-based platform, single API, single operational model to run their connected service business. Specifically, the new module manages:

  • Business Terms: Rules-driven automation of cross-operator billing and rating capabilities to facilitate business transactions amongst alliance partners for a host of business models including resale, co-sell and revenue-sharing
  • Operational Models: Operational capabilities delivered in a framework designed for multi-operator account management, rate plan and connectivity services provisioning, service policies definition and enforcement
  • Network Provisioning: Integrates with optional Jasper Global SIM software module for the ability to remotely provision and manage SIM profiles over-the-air anywhere in the world

“Building alliances is critical in the IoT market and global alliances are being inked all the time,” said Scott Barkley, VP Products at Jasper.

“However, when you’re working with so many different types of enterprise customers, you also need the flexibility to be able to quickly put in place the alliances that will be most relevant to that customer. This can’t take months; it needs to be quick, painless and turnkey. Jasper Alliance Manager is based on the proven Jasper cloud-based platform to give mobile operators what they need to be able deliver a single solution to an enterprise customer and win global business.”

Jasper Alliance Manager is available and in-use today by operators around the world who are building M2M alliances to better serve the specific needs of their multi-national enterprise customers.

Launched today at Mobile World Congress 2014, live demonstrations of the Jasper platform together with Jasper Alliance Manager software are on display at the Jasper stand (Hall 5, stand 5G16).
