Eurotech Announces New Generation Low Power Embedded Module in Catalyst Family

Catalyst BT Combines Industry Leading Performance with Eurotech Expertise for Lowest Power Offering in Product Line.

Eurotech, a leading supplier of embedded technologies, products and systems, today announces the next generation of modules in the Catalyst series of embedded computers. The Catalyst BT Computer on Module (CoM), based on the Intel® Atom™ E3800 series, will satisfy customers looking for industrial grade quad-, dual- or single-core performance with enhanced network and video capabilities while maintaining very low power consumption. Designed for intelligent Internet of Things devices, the Catalyst BT delivers the next generation of high performance compute and graphic performance in Eurotech’s familiar 67×100 mm CoM form factor.

The Catalyst BT supports CPU speeds up to 1.91GHz, DDR3L memory, and I/O capabilities such as USB 3.0, PCIe expansion buses, and Gigabit Ethernet. With an extended temperature range of -40oC to +85oC, the Catalyst BT is ideal for both space- and temperature-constrained devices in medical, industrial, gaming, retail, and automotive markets.

Hilary Tomasson, VP of Marketing for Eurotech in North America, said:

“The Catalyst BT showcases Eurotech’s expertise in extremely low power, industrial grade platforms while taking advantage of the latest processor features and video capabilities.”

“The Catalyst product line continues to satisfy customers who are working to conceive, build and connect embedded systems, like the devices that enable the Internet of Things and other embedded applications. Our expertise allows them to do that quickly and reliably.”

The Catalyst BT is a native IoT/M2M platform, supporting Everyware Device Cloud, Eurotech’s scalable cloud offering, consisting of open M2M protocols, cloud-based databases, and brokers, all simply accessible thorough REST APIs. The Catalyst BT is also compatible with ESF (Everyware Software Framework), Eurotech’s Java-based software framework that allows portable, high level programming of embedded devices. The Catalyst BT supports Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.

The Catalyst BT will be generally available in Q2. For more information, visit the website or see the Catalyst BT at Eurotech at Embedded World, Hall 5 Booth 176 in Nuremberg, Germany from February 25 to 28.
