Amdocs Joins M2M Trade Group, Reaches Out to Enterprise Users

The International M2M Council today announced that Amdocs, a leading provider of Business and Operations Support systems and services, has joined the new trade association.

The IMC seeks to prove the business case for the Internet of Things to companies that can benefit directly from machine-to-machine communications.

Amdocs joins IMC founding members AT&T, B&B Electronics, Deutsche Telekom, Digi, Iridium, Inmarsat, Kore, Numerex, Oracle, ORBCOMM, Synapse Wireless, Telecom Italia, Telit, Verizon, and Wyless. Yuval Mayron, General Manager for Amdocs Product Group, will join the group’s Board of Governors. Amdocs positions its M2M Enablement software suite as a natural fit to help communication and other service providers deploy innovative, end-to-end, Internet-of-Things services, while reducing cost, risk, and time-to-market.

IMC Chairman Juergen Hase, VP of Deutsche Telekom’s M2M Competence Center, says:

“Amdocs is an important software provider in the M2M space, and we welcome them into our Board of Governors. We intend to leverage our combined strengths to reach out to adopters of M2M technology.”

IMC aims to promote the business value of machine-to-machine communications across key vertical markets including automotive, logistics, energy, healthcare and public infrastructure. To this end, the new group has developed a library of IoT case studies, and publishes newsletters and quantitative research for these markets. The new association already claims over 1,500 Adopter Members – associates interested in deploying M2M solutions – from companies as diverse as ABB, BMW, Coca-Cola, DHL, Itron, RWE, Saudi Aramco, Tata Group, and the US Dept. of Defense.

Amdocs is expected to play a significant role in the IMC’s initiatives.

“The M2M ecosystem has become considerably crowded and fragmented over the past few years,” said Amdocs’ Mayron.

“We recognize that there is much communality between all verticals’ needs and the market hunger for a simple, horizontal enablement platform which can serve as M2M backbone for providing end to end solutions.”

“We are proud to join with a high-quality, diverse group of providers to help adopters achieve quicker time to services and profitability.”

Amdocs is displaying its M2M solutions at the M2M World Congress, a conference held in London this week.
