Providing turnkey M2M solutions through an all-inclusive development kit.
Partnering with industry leaders, DCS (Direct Communication Solutions), a leader in embedded modules for Machine to Machine (M2M) developers, has developed a comprehensive fleet management and diagnostic monitoring development kit to facilitate creation of innovative M2M solutions. The bundled development kit will combine the expertise of industry leaders in connectivity and device management, hardware and software solutions, as well as the distribution and provision of M2M services.
RacoWireless, a leading provider of wireless M2M connectivity and location-based solutions, along with CalAmp, a leading provider of wireless products, services and solutions have partnered with DCS to deliver a development kit to enable Application Service Providers to reduce time-to-market in delivering Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. The development kit includes the industry-leading CalAmp LMU (Location Messaging Unit) or TTU (Trailer Tracking Unit) combined with a domestic and global SIM, and airtime data bundle on the award-winning Omega Management Suite from RacoWireless to monitor and control carrier usage.
The partnership has evolved to fulfill the industry’s demand for deploying fully bundled hardware, airtime and software applications – eliminating complexities in the creation and deployment of services to the market. This kit is designed to accelerate the deployment of fleet SaaS solutions for new service providers or companies with any size fleet. The development kit is expected to lower the total cost of ownership, reduce installation fees and reduce overall deployment time.
John Hubler, VP of Business Development at RacoWireless, said:
“By creating a turnkey solution, we are making it easier than ever for developers to build, test, and deploy state-of-the-art M2M solutions to hasten the widespread adoption of the technology.”
“Building relationships with quality strategic partners is critical for providing integrated solutions in what has historically been a very fragmented market.”
M2M distributor and service provider DCS has developed a fleet management and diagnostic monitoring application for the M2M industry that is readily compatible with the CalAmp line of products globally. As a value-added reseller of CalAmp’s product line, DCS offers its customers a full suite of hardware-specific logistics services far beyond traditional distributors. DCS also offers its clients device customization programming, device management, and provisioning on wireless networks utilizing CalAmp’s PEG™ (Programmable Event Generator) and PULS™ (Programming Update Logistics System). This capability enables devices to arrive tested and ready for customers to deploy on RacoWireless’ Position Logic Platform.
DCS orchestrates many moving parts of a traditional M2M deployment. “We focus on the out-of-box experience,” stated Chris Bursey, Managing Partner of DCS. “Our strength in module integration and product deployment is a perfect match for creating this offering.”
“CalAmp is thrilled to join our partners to provide a fleet management development kit to the market,” noted Greg Gower, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CalAmp’s Mobile Resource Management business. “We are working to find ways to accelerate adoption of solutions across the M2M industry.”
