World’s Largest Specialized M2M Network Provider Enters Latin American Market with Native Carrier Services for Device Connectivity.
KORE, the world’s largest managed wireless services provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced an extended partner agreement with Telefonica. As a result of the acquisition of Jazz Wireless Data earlier this year, which had an existing agreement with Telefonica, KORE will leverage and expand its M2M network services further into Latin America.
With Telefonica as part of its network, KORE adds another best-of-class Tier One wireless carrier to its M2M platform, to address the rapidly expanding Latin American regional market and further extend the Company’s “plumb once, deploy everywhere” formula for device connectivity across the globe.
It has become increasingly apparent that a roaming approach to M2M cellular access leaves customers exposed to inefficiencies in network reliability and airtime cost, as well as possible restrictions due to regulatory or commercial considerations in many markets. In Latin America this is especially true, where regulations mandate working with a local carrier in order to set up operations.
