NetComm Wireless Limited, today announced that AT&T has certified the NetComm Wireless 4G WiFi M2M Router (NTC-140W-01) for deployment in the U.S., delivering the power of 4G LTE to Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications nationwide.
The industrial-grade NTC-140W-01 brings the coverage, speed and performance of AT&T’s 4G LTE network to market segments that manage large amounts of data from digital displays, smart buildings, remote healthcare, emergency response, business back-up and other bandwidth-intensive M2M applications.
Designed to enhance connectivity and remote communication, the NTC-140W-01 supports high data rates and provides a significant speed and reliability advantage to devices, machines and other assets on AT&T’s expansive 4G LTE network. Offering a new level of networking, the NTC-140W-01 features two Gigabit Ethernet ports and high-speed WiFi along with vehicle voltage support, GPS and ignition input for mobile assets.
David Stewart, CEO and Managing Director, NetComm Wireless, said:
“The AT&T certified NTC-140W-01 heightens business confidence by providing superior performance and business continuity while sustaining mission-critical M2M deployments over the long term as 2G networks are gradually decommissioned to make way for the new wave of 4G LTE.”
The device ensures reliable connectivity to time critical systems, tele-health services and disaster recovery applications with automatic failover to 3G when outside of 4G coverage areas, and instant fall-back to 4G when the Gigabit Ethernet ports are used as an alternate Internet connection. The built in VPN clients also ensure a secure connection over public mobile networks.
The powerful processor delivers optimal performance and its embedded NetComm Linux OS and Software Development Kit (SDK) enables the installation of custom software applications to the onboard memory. Its polycarbonate and rubber enclosure is mountable, designed for rugged deployments and also features temperature tolerances making the robust NTC-140W-01 ideal for remote and industrial environments.
