Leading M2M Solution Provider Selects Altair Semiconductor to Power New 450MHz LTE Router

Altair Chipsets to Provide Efficient 4G Network Connection for Variety of M2M and IoT Applications.

Altair Semiconductor, a leading provider of LTE chipsets, today announced that it has been selected by WM Systems, a leading M2M (machine-to-machine) manufacturer, to power its new M2M Pro 3 450MHz LTE® router.

“We are pleased to roll out our new product, one of the first 450MHz LTE devices for the M2M market,” said Bela Kormos, CEO of WM Systems. “When evaluating chipset partners, Altair offered the most mature and power-efficient 450MHz LTE solution.”

The 450MHz band features excellent propagation characteristics, making it an attractive, low-CAPEX spectrum band for M2M and IoT applications.

Eran Eshed, Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Altair, said:

“LTE operated in the 450MHz band is gaining strong momentum, offering a future-proof and more efficient alternative to legacy CDMA450 technology currently in use. We view 450MHz as a growing market opportunity and are uniquely positioned to address customer needs in all product categories supporting this band.”

Altair is also an active member of the 450 MHz Alliance, a global organization dedicated to advancing the 450 MHz band worldwide.
