Quectel Wireless Solutions, Shanghai, the leading global supplier of wireless modules, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with Verizon’s newly-launched ThingSpace Ready program.
Quectel’s Qualcomm-based BG96 Cat M1 modules will provide IoT integrators with easy, reliable and cost-effective connectivity to Verizon’s nationwide 4G LTE Cat M1 network.
Quectel’s Qualcomm-based BG96 modules are fully certified on the Verizon network and integrate GNSS capabilities as well as specific Verizon network features like SUPL, which allows enhanced indoor positioning when satellite visibility is not available. The BG96 has been designed on a crypto-secure architecture allowing the safe and reliable exchange of crypto keys between the device and the customers’ platform.
ThingSpace Ready, part of Verizon’s ThingSpace IoT platform, will deliver a new set of services designed to help device developers build, certify and manage devices on Verizon’s leading network along with incentives to customers on the platform including a rebate for devices activated on the network.
“Quectel is very glad to work with Verizon to drive secure and affordable IoT development to enhance the services and solutions we deliver to society,” said Norbert Muhrer, Quectel’s Senior VP of Global Sales.
“We expect that Quectel BG96 Cat M1 module together with Verizon ThingSpace Ready will enable cellular connectivity in more segments, save costs for developers and reduce time-to-market significantly.”
