Lantronix Launches PremierWave-XN, Delivering High Performance M2M WiFi Connectivity

New Dual-band Device Server to be Demonstrated at Embedded World 2012

Lantronix, Inc., a leading global provider of smart M2M connectivity solutions, today announced the launch of its new PremierWave-XN, the next generation device server in the award-winning PremierWave family.

PremierWave-XN is sampling now and available for pre-ordering now at www.Lantronix.com. The product will begin volume shipping in late March 2012.

PremierWave-XN, roughly the size of a standard deck of playing cards, is an 802.11n dual-band, multi-port serial device server, offering both WiFi and Ethernet connectivity – enabling remote access and easy management of devices or equipment over the network and across the internet. The result? An easy to deploy and easy to manage solution for securely transmitting vital data across company networks and the internet to virtually any device, machine, or person.

The market timing for a high performance device server such as PremierWave-XN is perfect,” said Ed Davis, CEO for Intelligent Power Corporation, a Portland, Oregon-based provider of power-based products.

More and more industries, from medical to government, are tasking manufacturers with specific and ambitious product requirements in order to match their advanced infrastructure configuration and needs. Lantronix has positioned itself ahead of the curve by deploying advanced security and core features such as dual external antennas for optimal wireless performance, signal reliability and extended range of data transmission.

Key Features and Benefits

Equipped with the market-leading “Lantronix device server application suite,” PremierWave-XN provides control of serial communication on connected devices and offers the flexibility to have data globally available. Additionally, Lantronix’ proprietary Secure ComPort Redirector virtualisation software allows existing serial port applications to work without modifications.

Existing products with an Ethernet interface can easily be made WiFi-compatible with the bridging capability of the PremierWave-XN; particularly in industrial environments where a wide operating temperature range is required.

Key features include:

  • 802.11n provides increased wireless speed, improved reliability and extended transmission range in 2.4GHz or 5GHz;
  • Lantronix SmartRoam™ technology provides seamless mobile connectivity and improved reliability;
  • Enterprise-level security options including AES, SSL, SSH and EAP for data encryption and authentication;
  • Simple device set-up, configuration and monitoring with powerful, industry-standard management tools (Web, CLI, XML) and Lantronix DeviceInstaller™ and QuickConnect.

PremierWave-XN takes our PremierWave family to the next level,” said Mak Manesh, vice president of product management for Lantronix.

“The PremierWave-XN supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n is capable of operating on the 2.4 GHz or 5GHz band, ideal for connecting devices to an existing Wi-Fi infrastructure network without compromising the overall network performance.”

Our beta testing and sampling yielded very positive feedback and we look forward to the market adoption of our latest PremierWave offering.
