Announcing Axiros AXPERIENCE 2.0: The PaaS for the Internet of Things

Extending reach into IoT and M2M and leveraging device management with true IT/OS integration.

Axiros, the technology leader in device management, TR-069, and IoT solutions for service providers, enterprises, and OEMs, today announced its plans for the release AXPERIENCE 2.0, the Internet of Things (IoT) platform that will complement its already established AXESS suite and decade of leadership in the device management arena.

With Gartner predicting that by 2020 the business reach of the IoT will encompass more than 25 billion devices and IDC predicting that by 2018, 40% of IoT-created data will be stored, processed, analyzed, and acted upon close to, or at the edge, of the network,” application developers are now looking for Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions that enable the management of the infrastructure, application, edge nodes and security of the ecosystem.

Axiros has focused its efforts on the key success factors for IoT software developers and service providers: service delivery automation, distributed execution environment, security orchestration and API brokering.

With AXPERIENCE 2.0, developers and providers of IoT applications will design and deploy truly zero-touch connected devices, which will greatly improve the time-to-market of the solution on both initial installation as well as the continuous build. The Axiros IoT platform leverages the DevOps architecture of its leading communication products, which have been deployed in the market since 2002.

One of the predictions from the IDC FutureScape for Worldwide Manufacturing for 2015 is that Industrial IoT (IIoT) is a leading segment that will drive huge transformations and “by 2018, 40% of Top 100 discrete manufacturers and 20% of Top 100 process manufacturers will provide Product-as-a-Service platforms.” AXPERIENCE 2.0 delivers the capability to develop and deploy complex automation logic that will coordinate local real time processing on industrial controllers with distributed control logic in the Cloud.

As a result, the key feature of security orchestration can be delivered with minimum effort and overarching control from the Cloud platform on a true multi-tenancy environment. Ensuring coordination of all aspect of security management is key to both data and service protection as well as service continuity. With over a decade of experience in security orchestration for complex enterprise devices, AXPERIENCE 2.0 delivers a sound infrastructure for service providers.

Finally, all of the features above will not provide a true business benefit without a comprehensive API management platform that enables developers, service providers and system integrators to first implement and subsequently access the services provided by the connected Things ecosystem.

“This new release of AXPERIENCE 2.0 marks a major advance for Axiros’ strategy to deliver ubiquitous control on every connected device,” said Alfeo Pareschi, Axiros VP of Customer Solutions.

“The new platform features enable our existing customers and partners to further exploit the possibilities offered by the Axiros architecture: faster time to market and excellent control of the quality of experience. In the IoT space, AXPERIENCE 2.0 represents an important Axiros investment milestone as we extend our ability to manage any kind of device and any protocol out of our traditional telecommunication service provider reference market.”

These advances are now reinforced by the strengthening of the partnership ecosystem at all levels of the IoT value chain: appliance manufacturers, system integrators, end-to-end service providers, and vertical application developers. In the past few weeks alone, Axiros welcomed major players including ADTRAN, BULL, Lyse, and Wi-Next, and as they are working on others Axiros will continue to grow the adoption of its technology.

AXPERIENCE 2.0 will be available later this year. For more information about Axiros, AXPERIENCE 2.0 or other Axiros products, please visit the company’s website.
